Sermons

Anne giving a sermon

At St. Luke's, we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to preaching.   Our Rector (senior pastor) and Assistant to the Rector preach most regularly.  We are also blessed to have a super star roster of occasional preachers from a broad range of backgrounds: a Duke Divinity School faculty member, a retired bishop, a lawyer/former prison chaplain/baseball aficionado, a deacon who teaches high school students in her free time, plus guests literally from around the world.  At St. Luke's, we strive for sermons that are not too long, not too short, are inspired by scripture, and relate to today's world.

When possible, we post sermons preached from our pulpit here.  Sometimes we preach from an outline or without notes at all, which makes it hard to share in print.  If you want to hear the sermon, audio recordings of our church services are available through the church office.
