St. Luke's School is a child development center dedicated to the principle that "education is a process by which children are assisted in their individual growth".
Beth Gray, Director Emeritus

In Durham, North Carolina Since 1961

Our purpose is:
  • To provide an environment in which each child can develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually.

  • To develop the creative power inherent in every child in a stimulating and secure environment in which he is free to create, investigate and manipulate.

  • To provide a warm, friendly atmosphere where a child knows he is loved, understood and appreciated at his present level of development, while being encouraged toward new levels of maturity and self-expression.

  • To provide (through observation, conferences, group meetings and current literature) an opportunity for parents to increase understanding of their child's development.
