The Outreach Committee at St. Luke's is responsible for weighing the many worthy options we have for directing the money that we raise for Outreach.   Based on their recommendations, we allocate our funds annually among numerous worthy recipients.   The following list summarizes our most recent allocation in 2011, which totaled $15,250.

Each December St. Luke's offers local and national organizations the opportunity to participate in our Alternative Gifts Fair.  In 2010 the Alternative Gifts Fair supported the following agencies.

Outreach Fundraising Events

We also have several Outreach fundraising events each year - the largest are:

  • St. Luke's Stew 'n' Q, the latest addition to our Outreach line-up. We sell two "church-made" Carolina favorites as a way to involve the larger community in our Outreach ministries. This year's spring event was held on Saturday, February 19. For the fall, we'll be doing a Q-only event in conjunction with the Fall Fling on Saturday, October 22. Click here for more details.
  • Fall Fling (previously known as the Spring Fling) is an event where we raise money for Outreach through a large yard sale of "treasures" donated by members of the congregation. The Fling also provides the community with a virtual bargain basement of really low-priced merchandise for their homes. This year's Fall Fling is scheduled for Saturday, October 22.
  • Alternative Gifts Fair: Our most recent edition of this annual event was on December 5 and 12, 2010. It gives us a unique opportunity to support Outreach as we do our Christmas shopping.
