Green Team & Men's Group Combine to Do Work at Church

On June 19th we had over 12 men from the Church who gave their time and effort to help maintain the buildings, working on the Church, Johnson Hall, and the School.  We thank them all for contributing to Stewardship in a different way, but one that is important for the future of St. Luke's.  What did they do?  Here is what they accomplished in about 4 hours:

• Scraped and painted the 3 roof overhangs of the Church . . . a grubby job requiring the worker to scrape the underside of the roof looking up and learning to live with the peelings of paint that fall into your face . . .
• Painted the overhangs with a roller brush . . .
• Dug up the trash in the drains in the back of the School as well as digging up the stream that serves the School in the back . . .
• Replaced some new lenses in the school rooms that need to be replaced; . . .
• Replaced some lights and ballasts in Johnson Hall . . .
• Replaced some lights and ballasts in the Church, as well as replaced the external spot lights to CFL . . . .

Performing this type of maintenance is necessary but fun and we enjoyed working together to make sure the Church maintains a pleasant face in our community. We didn't complete the job (it is never really completed) but we have a dedicated group of congregants willing to work hard to make the Church and its buildings a pleasant and inviting environment.
