Vacation Bible School

Each summer St Luke's hosts Vacation Bible School (VBS), four nights of learning, food, fun, fellowship, and worship for all ages, including a closing parish-wide picnic and worship service.  All are welcome.  Visitors and newcomers are warmly invited to join us.

Vacation Bible School begins at 5:45 with singing and prayers, followed by dinner, age-specific program, and closing prayers.  We are finished no later than 8:00.  Nursery care is provided for children 3 and under.

There is no charge for VBS.  Donations are accepted to help pay for the cost of dinner.

Vacation Bible School 2010

2010 VBS will be from Sunday, June 27 through Thursday, July 1.  Our theme will be "Faith and Money (and me)" with age-appropriate, Biblically-based lessons for children (ages 4 and above), youth, and adults.  The program will help us think more deeply about stewardship, but not just what we give to the needy or the church.  We will explore larger questions around the meaning of money.  What does it mean to have enough?  How do we decide how much to spend or save or give?  How are we called to help create a world where more people have what they need? How can we as Christians make a difference and put our money where our faith is?  We will draw upon the rich resources of scripture, our faith tradition, our own experience, and the Holy Spirit.  The children and youth programs will use music and dance to help us explore Bible passages about money and faith.
