If you have questions about faith and worship, bring them to the Adult Inquirers Classes.

Adult Forum Offerings, Spring 2011

Note: While the Adulr Inquirers Class is being held in the Kramer Room, Adult Forum will move to the Johnson Hall classroom. It's the first door to your left after you enter Johnson Hall.

January 9, 16, and 30: Prayer as a Form of Alternative Medicine. Many of us rely on prayer to cope with physical, mental, and emotional distress, and are comforted when others pray for us or with us. We also pray for healing in the world each Sunday in the liturgy. In this 3-week series we will explore various ways to pray for "healing of all types," and look at some controlled research studies examining the effectiveness prayer.

February 6, 13, 20, and 27. Missiology: The Study of Missions. This 4-Sunday series will explore the theology behind the Church's emphasis on "missions", the role of missionaries both at home and abroad, and introduce the Episcopal Relief and Development's Nets for Life program. We'll conclude on February 27 with a report from the Belize 2011 teams.

Looking Ahead: Our discussions during the Lenten series on Sunday mornings (March 13 - April 17) will examine the patterns of our lives and explore the ancient practice of a Rule of Life. We'll look at both ancient and contemporary examples, elements of a Rule, and work towards developing or refining our own Rule by examining practices and habits in our individual and common lives and experiences.
